Join us at the Eco Fun Palace this Sunday 8 October

October 5, 2017 By Petra Griffiths

On Sunday LSC will be at the Eco Fun Palace Day at St James’s Piccadilly with an art stall and a labyrinth walk. The strapline for Fun Palaces is “Everyone an artist, everyone a scientist.” and all the activities are participatory. Fun Palaces are being created all over the UK on 7 and 8 October: http://funpalaces.co.uk/ For news of the St James’s Eco Fun Palace go to: http://www.sjp.org.uk/…/eco-church-7-october-2017-at-st-jam…

I hope to get a chance to dip your toe in at one of these events.

Some of the key ideas that inspire us

July 28, 2017 By Living Spirituality Connections

In the Radio 4 Programme Something Understood broadcast on Christmas Day 2016 on the topic of goodwill, Professor June Boyce-Tillman (our Music and Spirituality coordinator) gives an excellent summary of some of the key ideas that inspire Living Spirituality Connections:

  • the importance of belonging and including marginalised groups
  • the world as a cosmic web which God is part of
  • the importance of doing the small things we can to reweave the original unity of life and restore right relationship with all parts of creation
  • the importance of reconnecting with the image of God residing at a deep level inside us all
  • the need to maintain awareness of the Christlight within in order to not lose touch with hope in very challenging times.

You can listen to the interview below.

The Experience of a Group for Sharing Spiritual Journeys

April 20, 2016 By Petra Griffiths

The LivingSpirituality Journeying Together Group (JTG) emerged out of an initiative in 2014 designed to “explore the spirituality and theology of giving equal weight to female and male language for the divine”.  After a few meetings we broadened our scope to reflect the original members’ interests.

Our aims now are to:

  • share our spiritual journeys;
  • use inclusive language and imagery exploring the feminine and masculine nature of the divine, particularly focusing on bringing forth the suppressed feminine strand within the Judeo-Christian tradition;
  • acknowledge our connection with the web of life;
  • make deeper connections to God, as we listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit in our time;
  • be open to insights from the contemplative tradition and from other faiths;
  • respect diversity.

I have written a detailed document explaining more about the group and how it works.

Topics covered include:

  • how we structure our monthly meetings
  • examples of the themes we have covered in our meetings
  • the group agreements we have made
  • a description of our creative liturgies and the resources we use for them
  • quotes from some of our members about how they have benefitted from the group.

The document can be downloaded here – www.livingspirit.org.uk/spiritual-sharing-group.pdf.
